Mines Action Canada Commends Government of Canada for Completing Destruction of Cluster Munition Stockpiles

Today, Canadian representatives at the Fifth Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions announced that the destruction of Canada’s cluster munition stockpile was completed in June 2014.

The Convention on Cluster Munitions bans the use, production, trade and stockpiling of cluster munitions.  Although Canada is not yet a state party to the Convention on Cluster Munitions, Canada has fulfilled the stockpile destruction obligations found in the convention.
